Encouraging entrepreneurship

The Emerging Entrepreneurship Program

paths-2-scaled

Training engineer-entrepreneurs to drive transition

Students wishing to start their careers as entrepreneurs can, in their final year, join one of the entrepreneurship support programs offered at the Lyon Saint-Etienne Engineering Alliance.

At INSA Lyon, the Student Entrepreneur Program (FEE) allows students to receive training in entrepreneurship while developing a robust, responsible project that is connected to their academic ecosystem and can be deployed as soon as they graduate. A notable feature is that selection is based on the student’s profile and entrepreneurial vocation, without the need to arrive with a pre-existing project.

At Centrale Lyon, students can enroll in the Entrepreneur and Intrapreneur Programs (MOD 1 & 2), which are also open to students from the Collège schools as part of their final-year exchanges. These programs provide training in business creation or innovation in an organizational context, with the option of completing a mentored business creation project as a final thesis.

What are the objectives?

Develop an entrepreneurial mindset (leadership, creativity, managing uncertainty). Master innovation methods (Design Thinking, Lean Startup, etc.). Integrate contemporary issues (climate, social justice, digital ethics). Work as part of a team in an interdisciplinary and inter-institutional setting. Develop a robust entrepreneurial project.

Active learning

One semester of modules, workshops, meetings, and prototyping. Individual coaching, tutoring, and mentoring on emerging projects. 30 ECTS credits with the possibility of obtaining an institutional diploma.

What are the career opportunities?

Continuation of the project in incubation. Enhancement in innovation professions. A solid foundation for future entrepreneurship.

Mutual aid HUB: resources for the most advanced projects

To support the most mature entrepreneurial projects from our four schools, the Entrepreneurship Working Group meets regularly to open up access to the most relevant resources within the institutions to help these projects:

By facilitating access to the schools’ various technical resources, we aim to offer greater visibility to laboratories and platforms while providing project leaders with contacts and opportunities for extensive collaboration.

This approach complements the PUI’s “Objectif Labo” program, which takes place only once a year.

Entrepreneurship & Innovation Internships: Immerse Yourself in the World of Entrepreneurship

For those who dream of embarking on an entrepreneurial adventure or taking part in innovative projects, the College of Engineering is working to set up an exclusive range of internships and final-year projects focused on entrepreneurship and innovation.

The aim of this initiative is to offer high value-added positions where the intern’s contribution will be decisive, with roles such as:

  • Startup partner.
  • CTO – Technology/R&D Manager.
  • Chief of Staff – Executive Assistant.
  • Business buyer.
  • Innovation Project Manager/Consultant.
  • Support Officer (incubators).
