E@sely Skills

Supporting teams and boosting European research. Strong regional roots, European influence.

Facilitating access to European funding for laboratories and researchers

Launched by the College of Engineering in partnership with Jean Monnet University, the CNRS, INSAVALOR and Centrale Innovation, the E@sely Skills project:

  • aims to strengthen the European roots of higher education institutions in terms of research and innovation,
  • is committed to making Lyon-Saint-Étienne an international engineering hub engaged in ecological, economic and digital transitions.

E@SELY is a collective project to invent the engineering of tomorrow: responsible, open, collaborative and impact-oriented.

E@SELY is part of the France 2030 plan, supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, the Metropolises of Lyon and Saint-Étienne, competitiveness clusters (Axelera, CIMES, Minalogic, etc.), and academic and economic players in the region.

Tailor-made support for European projects

Contribute to upcoming programmes and calls for proposals

In collaboration with our laboratories, we identify strategic research topics and bring them to the attention of the European Commission so that they can be included in upcoming calls for proposals.

We participate in national thematic groups organised by the French Ministry of Research and Higher Education. These groups bring together the French scientific community and various stakeholders active in the sphere of European funding.

Inform researchers

We monitor European funding instruments in order to match calls for projects with the themes of the laboratories.

We support researchers in understanding the specificities of the various funding instruments and programmes.

Gaining visibility

Being visible and present in European networks is an important part of our work. We interact with various actors involved in research at the national and international level: discussions with the Ministry of Research and Higher Education, exchanges with European networks focused on collaborative projects, participation in networking events, trade shows, etc.

Raising awareness of ERC projects

Actions to raise awareness, inform and train researchers about ERC projects

Developing an ERC proposal

Taking your research idea from the draft stage to a fully developed breakthrough project takes time and patience. We guide you through the process and help you consider your project from different angles.

Writing and proofreading

Successful proposals are always compelling and often personal. We help you find your voice and teach you how to write grant proposals based on logical narrative structures.

Auditions

The ability to communicate complex ideas simply is the result of repeated practice. We train you to explain your research clearly and concisely so that everyone can understand it.
